PICNIC festival

Date:
Wednesday, September 14, 2011 - 09:30 - Friday, September 16, 2011 - 17:30

The Living Lab network is a vibrant community that is working on the many of the major challenges of our time. PICNIC is one of the most inspirational festivals in Europe, a high-level meeting of bright and creative minds that bring together media entrepreneurs, thinkers, and creators together to share their stories with more than 1,000 delegates from all over the world, and this year PICNIC theme is ‘Urban Future’.

The Amsterdam Living Lab, together with Fireball, Open Cities and ENoLL, would like to host a special day at the PICNIC2011 festival focused on the contribution that living labs make. With the PICNIC festival management we have made an agreement that we will host the living lab community in a separate tent on the festival terrain.

During this day we will organize a program around the next themes that PICNIC has adopted this year:

  •  eHealth,
  • Durability & Energy,
  •  Mobility,
  •  OpenData.

Each theme will be opened by a keynote speaker for 20 minutes after whom 10 short 5 minute presentations will be given by living labs on their projects. At the end of the day a session is hosted by ENoLL on the future of Living Labs.

This invitation is a Call for Presentations for living labs that wish to present their project at PICNIC 2011. Projects to be presented have to be good and concrete examples, innovative in their approach and to be inspirational to present. Selection of the presentations will be done by the Amsterdam Living Lab together with ENoLL.

For each selected presentation two tickets to the full three day PICNIC festival are rewarded for free! In total we have 100 free tickets available at a total value of almost 100.000 euros. Do not miss this chance to enjoy and the PICNIC program and many of the European living Lab community members in one spot…

For European living labs that wish to combine their presence at PICNIC with a project meeting during or before/after we can arrange free meeting locations. If you wish to use these contact martijn@aimsterdam.nl and we will work something out. The ENoLL council will be present and also hold a meeting during these days.

For people that wish to present their project at the PICNIC festival and receive these two free tickets the following schedule applies:

  • Send in your (draft) presentation and your bio before July 1st to martijn@aimsterdam.nl,
  • A selection is made of eligible presentations before July 15th after which all will receive notice on presentation and tickets.
  • The selection is done by representatives from ENoLL, Amsterdam Living Lab, Fireball and OpenCities based on: Living Lab approach, concreteness, creativity and inspiration.

Even if you are not selected as presenter we can arrange tickets for a lower price than normal as member of the ENoLL network - based on first come first served principle. We will sent out information on this after the 15th of July.
