ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX e-Participation strand of APOLLON pilot awarded at a national competition!

Issy Award

On 19th May the interactive multimedia trail on the History of the Fort of Issy developed within the e-Participation strand of APOLLON received the Grand Prize Evillementiel, during an awards ceremony held in Paris.

Evillementiel is a national competition created and organized by the EFAP (French Establishment of Communication Studies). Its purpose is to bring forward the best initiatives & events organized by small and medium-sized cities.

More than 150 cities participated to the competition in one of the three categories: Culture, Sports and Sustainable Development. Issy-les-Moulineaux received the Award for the Best cultural event and also the Grand Prize Evillementiel 2011, all categories included. A distinction that rewards the innovative approach of the city - combining culture and technology - but also the cross-border collaboration for the benefit of the citizens.

The interactive discovery trail invited users to discover the History of the Fort of Issy via QR codes placed on historical information boards across the city. Users equipped with an iPhone could take the experience one step further as they had to solve riddles, report on their journey by taking pictures, videos, geolocating themselves and then upload the data in real time on the 3D map of the city.

Young Community Reporters accompanied the participants, getting comments and feedback about the trail. The content they produced was shared with the entire Issy community via a new blog dedicated to the web-reporters of Issy-les-Moulineaux (www.issy.com/web-reporter).
